Sync is automatic. Your changes are saved on this phone first and sent as soon as there is a connection. The pill at the top shows the state; tap it to send now. "Synced · 2 waiting" means two finished jobs still have work on this phone that has not been sent: More → Offline lists them; tap one to open it. A certificate draft whose certificate was deleted or voided in the Planner is removed from this phone once the server confirms it; More → Offline tells you which one (tap OK to hide the notice). Signed certificates, bundles and recoveries are never removed: send them yourself.
The SDN. The planner’s SDN lines are the work to do on board: in Service, tick each line when it is done, or open it and choose not done with a reason. Extra work the customer asks for: Add service line, find it by its STC number or words, and enter the quantity. To get the SDN signed: Files & photos → Prepare signed SDN. You see what the customer signs for, then either both sign on this phone (the signatures go into the SDN’s boxes; page 1 always, other pages if you tick them) or you take a photo of each page of a paper SDN signed by hand. Extra work is added on its own signed page. Save the signed copy; the planner downloads it for the ERP.
My jobs and Company jobs. To do opens on My jobs: the jobs you are the responsible or a support technician on. Tap Company jobs at the top to see the other technicians' current jobs: vessel, date, who is on it and status. A company job opens read-only: you can look at its service items, certificates, visits and details, but not tick, fill in, sign, upload or change anything.
Parts to order. When the planners ordered parts for a job, the job shows how many have arrived, for example “Parts: 2 of 3 received”. It is checked each time you open the job with a connection; offline it shows the last check.
Offline. Every job assigned to you is kept on this phone, with its certificates and documents. You can work without signal.
New version. When the app has been updated, a strip above the tabs says “New version of the app”. Tap Update. If you are still editing something, it asks you to save or close it first, so nothing is lost.
Sign out. More → Sign out first checks that everything is sent. Then it removes your jobs, photos and PDFs from this phone and stops your notifications here. If something is not sent yet, it asks you to sync first.
Vessel documents. You can view all documents of every vessel of your company (certificates of every year, drawings and manuals, photos, job reports), at any time: in a job under Files & photos, or under More → Vessel documents, where you search for the vessel. View only; needs a connection. Files are not kept on the phone unless you press Download.
Shared documents. More → Shared documents (and the bottom of a job’s Files & photos) has every Shared folder of Documents in VesselPlanner, with the names your office gave them: service manuals, datasheets, templates, rules and the rest, with their subfolders. Tap a folder to open it, Back or the path at the top to go up, or search all of Shared. View only. Offline, the folders you already opened stay on screen, but a file needs a connection to open.
New certificate. Forms that fit the job's work come first; the one with the most planned units is chosen for you (none when two fit equally). If that form is already started on the job, the app says who started it and offers to open it. An empty certificate offers the units from the vessel's last certificate on this device (or the number the job plans), to check and change during the inspection.
Scan a serial. In a certificate, tap Scan beside “Serial or equipment ID” and point the camera at the barcode or QR code. It opens that item; nothing is filled in or ticked for you. Scan next goes on to the next one. If the label can't be read, type the serial in the camera view. A code that is not on the certificate fills the next empty item, or is added as a new item with that serial. Works offline.
To do shows your jobs and tasks in one place: today first (overdue in red), then the next 30 days by day. Tap a job to open it. Tasks are small jobs from the planner: tap the box to tick one off when done, also without signal. All, Jobs and Tasks at the top choose what is shown. Finished jobs and older tasks are at the bottom of the list.
My logbook fills itself in with every job you take part in. When you complete a job, check the “Who worked on this job?” card: it is filled in for you, so change it only if someone is missing or was a trainee.
My skills and courses shows your skills and courses from Team & skills. Tap + Add certificate to add the certificate of a course (PDF or photo). The office approves it before it counts; if it is rejected you see why. Needs a connection.
Report a problem. Something not working in the app? More → Report a problem sends a sentence or two to the office. It adds the page, the app version and what is still waiting to upload, so nothing else is needed. An error screen shows a code (like “Code: 7F3A2C”) and has the same button.
